What is RSS

RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" or "Rich Site Summary" depending on whom you ask. RSS feeds are a clever new way to keep up with information from your favorite websites. RSS provides information updates (usually new headlines or stories) from a website in XML, a machine-readable format. RSS is free. The word "subscribe" when used with regard to RSS feeds simply means to sign up to get updates. Not all websites currently support RSS, but most major sites either do or plan to support it soon. Many websites, including Runnersworld.com, provide multiple feeds, which allow you to pick and choose your subscriptions from your areas of interest.
